Why a Sleeping Sack?: It is quite natural for babies to wake regularly during the night, particularly in the first six months. However, extensive research has proven that when waking, babies wriggle causing them to kick off, tangle in, or even slip down under conventional bedcovers. Either way, baby becomes too hot or too cold and uncomfortable.
It is this discomfort which causes distress and the inevitable crying!
Sleeping Bags replace blankets, duvets and top sheets, keeping your baby at a comfortable temperature throughout the night.
Sleeping Sack Sizes: By their very nature sleeping bags must be large in both width and length to allow baby plenty of room to kick and wriggle. Ideally baby's feet will come midway to three quarters down the length of the bag. Do not use a Sleeping bag for the first few weeks after birth. Your baby should weigh over 8lb (3.5Kg) before using a sleeping bag.

Please Note:
Sizes 1 and 2 have 'snap' shoulder fastening and an all round zip. This makes for easy opening and changing without disturbing baby too much.
Size 3 has a centre zip which is opened from the foot. This prevents older babies undoing the shoulder snaps and 'escaping'.
What is Tog Rating: Tog is simply a unit of measurement to calculate the thermal resistance. That is how much and how quickly the bag loses heat. Tog does not mean weight of the bag – heavy is not necessarily warmer. Remember baby retains its own body warmth when inside a Sleeping Bag and therefore the rating should never exceed 3 tog.
Our sleeping sacks have 2 Tog Ratings
* 2-5 tog - standard measurement for use all year round. This is equivalent to 2 blankets and a sheet.
* 1-0 tog - for use in warm rooms and hot summer nights. This is equivalent to 1 blanket and a sheet.
It is a mistake to think 2.5 tog bags are for Winter and 1 tog bags are for Summer. Summer nights can be very cool and in Winter we invariably have central heating and good insulation.
The tog rating of the sleeping bag you use depends on the temperature of the Baby’s nursery. Try to keep baby’s room at a reasonably constant temperature. Ideally you will have both a 1 tog and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag.
The 2.5 is for general use throughout the year. 1 tog is for warmer rooms, when the temperature is regularly over 22ºc. If your baby is too warm or too cool then simply adjust their nightwear.
